Job summary

Dow Jones is seeking a skilled Machinist/Mechanic for its Print Operations team. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment in a fast-paced printing environment.

You will disassemble and repair machinery, read blueprints, perform welding as needed, and ensure all work aligns with safety standards. Rotating 1st/2nd shifts and occasional weekend work are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some experience preferred.
• Experience as an industrial/commercial mechanic.
• Ability to work under deadlines and rotate between 1st/2nd shifts; some weekend work.
• Welding experience and ability to read blueprints/manufacturers’ manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery; diagnose malfunctions using testing devices.
• Repair/maintain industrial production equipment and replace broken components.
• Study blueprints and manuals to ensure correct installation and operation.
• Record parts used and maintenance work; ensure safety and compliance with procedures.
• Communicate with Foreman and supervisors about issues and schedule work accordingly.
