Job summary

Dow Jones is seeking a Machinist/Mechanic to support plant operations within the Print Operations team. The role focuses on safe maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of production equipment, with preventive maintenance and upgrades as needed.

You will work on disassembly, calibration, testing, and reassembly of machinery, diagnosing faults, and ensuring equipment runs reliably. A rotating shift between 1st and 2nd shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as an industrial/commercial mechanic preferred.
• Welding experience is required or beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
• Diagnose equipment problems from operator feedback.
• Inspect parts for wear and defects and perform repairs as needed.
• Test repaired equipment using appropriate testing devices and verify repairs.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment to replace parts.
• Record repairs, parts used, and maintenance actions.
