Job summary

Dow Jones is seeking a mechanically skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the Print Plant operations. You will perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, troubleshoot and repair faults, and install/modify components as needed to maintain peak performance.

The role requires safe work practices, blueprints reading, welding ability, and collaboration with the foreman and operators. The position is on-site at the Print Plant with rotating shifts after 5pm and the potential for some

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturer manuals.
• Experience with welding is preferred.
• Capable of lifting and performing mechanical repairs.
• Strong math, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, disassemble, clean, reassemble and calibrate equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions with testers and restore operation; test repairs for adequacy.
• Disassemble, repair and replace broken components and parts.
• Study blueprints to determine correct installation and operation of machinery; weld and fabricate as needed.
• Record parts used and maintenance actions; communicate hazards and schedule work.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and follow safety rules.
• Coordinate with foreman, mechanics and operators on priorities and issues.
• Attend meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Rotate shifts; adapt to after-hours production schedule.
