Job summary

Dow seeks a Machinist at the Orange, Texas location within Sabine River Operations. You will provide maintenance craft support, repair all types of equipment, and work with broadened technical methods to perform diverse activities.

There is emphasis on operating machine tools, executing preventative maintenance, and coordinating parts. The role requires 5+ years as machinist and ability to work shifts with overtime and holidays.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or equivalent is required with 5+ years of military or machinist experience.
• Must be able to work full shift, overtime and holidays as needed.
• Experience with a manual lathe, boring mill, grinders and industrial drill presses is required.
• Current, valid US driver's license is required.
• No visa sponsorship is available for this U.S. position.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Operate Lathe, drill press and various machine tools for progressive machining.
• Calibrates and aligns equipment.
• Completes preventative maintenance activities.
• Checks sizing of components and parts.
• Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
• Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
• Assists in planning and scheduling maintenance.
• Repairs and installs equipment used in the process.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
• Collects operation data for reliability improvements.
• Works within Maintenance Work Processes and resolves planning issues.
• Disassembles, cleans and repairs pressure relief devices.
• Performs testing on certified equipment and documents per VR program.
