Job summary

Belden Inc. in Chicago seeks a Solution Consultant to join the Solution Consulting & Services Team. You will translate customer challenges into converged IT/OT network solutions, lead demos and PoVs, and ensure a smooth handoff to Execution.

Ideal candidates have a strong engineering background, 8+ years pre-sales experience in enterprise/industrial settings, and travel 50%+. Collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development is key. Hybrid/remote options may be available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of consultative, pre-sales experience in enterprise/industrial environments.
• Proven expertise in OT/IT infrastructure design and implementation.
• Experience designing and maintaining copper or fiber networks, including wireless/WAN.
• Proficiency with AIA MasterSpec, CAD and Bluebeam and estimating tools.
• Ability to translate technical solutions into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of market trends and competitive solutions.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (50%+).
• Certifications such as RCDD, DCDC or CDCP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to drive bookings with outcome-based solutions.
• Define infrastructure requirements, build BOM and network designs.
• Lead demos, PoVs and Proof-of-Concept activities in Belden labs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical value.
• Ensure smooth handoff to Execution (Commercial Operations & PMO).
• Provide technical content for marketing materials and case studies.
• Support technology campaigns and customer events.
