Job summary

Austin Industries in Texas is seeking an experienced Insulator - Metal Man to apply, remove, and repair insulating material on ducts, pipes, tanks, and equipment to control temperatures.

You will read blueprints, measure materials, fit insulation, and seal surfaces using adhesives, tape, and protective covers. Must be able to work at heights and meet safety and production standards. Legal work in the United States required; NCCER and license preferred.

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirements.
• 4 years of scaffolding experience preferred.
• NCCER certification and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and selects required insulation material.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
• Determine the amounts and select required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form).
• Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape.
• Fit, wrap, or attach insulation material around or to the structure following blueprint specifications.
• Seal insulation with covers, tape, or sealant to secure insulation.
• Other duties as assigned.
