Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an Insulator/Metal-man to apply, remove and repair insulation on exposed surfaces, pipes, tanks and boilers to control heat and noise. You will read blueprints, measure, cut and fit insulation materials, and work at heights as required by job sites.

This full-time, on-site role requires 3–5 years of Journeyman experience and legal authorization to work in the United States. Training and safety are emphasized across assignments.

Qualifications

• Education – no minimum education requirements.
• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and selects required insulation material.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
• Determine amounts and select insulation material based on location and equipment use.
• Measure and cut insulation material to size using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit and wrap insulation to structure following blueprint specifications.
• Cover insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant or tape to secure insulation.
• Other duties as assigned.
