Job summary

Austin Industrial is hiring for an Insulator/Metal-man to apply, repair, and maintain insulating materials on surfaces such as ducts, pipes, tanks, and boilers. You will read blueprints, measure and cut insulation, and securely install it following specifications.

The role requires 3-5 years of Journeyman experience and a valid Driver’s License. You may work at heights and in varying industrial environments. Austin Industrial is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not sponsor visas.

Qualifications

• Education: – no minimum education requirements.
• Certifications/Licenses: Driver’s License
• Experience: 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and selects required insulation material.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
• Determine amounts and select insulation material based on heat retention, location, and equipment use.
• Cut insulation material to specified size and shape using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap or attach insulation material around structures following blueprint specs.
• Seal insulation with covers, tape, or sealant to secure insulation to structures.
