Job summary

CenTrio in Houston, TX is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support district energy plants producing steam and chilled water. Based on the Engineering & Construction team, you will calibrate, test, and maintain instrumentation and control systems, and contribute to safety and reliability.

You'll program process control loops, tune PID controllers, and work with Emerson Delta V and Allen-Bradley PLCs.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-year technical degree in electrical, controls or instrumentation engineering.
1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial process plant environment preferred.
In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree with 5 years of experience will be considered.
Knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS hardware and software.
Ability to program PID controls using plain English, block and ladder logic.
Knowledge of flow, temperature, pressure and valves.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Collaborative working style with customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control.
Calibrate meters, gauges, controllers and other instruments to locate defects.
Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance work orders for instruments and controls.
Review work orders for completeness and reconcile labor hours, parts and invoices.
Issue KPI reports from the Delta V historian.
Program and tune process control loops, including PID and cascade controls.
Collaborate with engineering firms and coordinate vendors for maintenance and upgrades.
Use PPE, tools, and CMMS software safely in field and plant environments.
