Job summary

CenTrio is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support the district energy plant operations in Houston, TX. The role is onsite, Monday–Friday, 8-hour days, and reports to the Director, Platform Instrumentation & Controls.

The candidate will maintain and calibrate instrumentation for steam and chilled water systems, program process control loops, and coordinate with operations to issue KPI reports.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree in electrical, controls or instrumentation engineering.
• 1-3 years of manufacturing/industrial process plant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS hardware and software.
• Must be able to program PID controls using plain English, ladder logic.
• Knowledge of instrumentation including flow, temperature, pressure and valves.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, adjust, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
• Inspect meters, indicators, and gauges to detect failures and defects.
• Calibrate flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, and other instruments.
• Plan and schedule maintenance work orders for all instruments and review labor hours and parts.
• Reconcile work orders with contractor invoices.
• Generate KPI reports from process control Delta V historian.
• Program process control loops and tune PID controllers.
• Work with Emerson Delta V, Allen-Bradley PLC and other controllers.
• Read PID and PFD diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineering firms to design control systems.
• Coordinate contractors for maintenance and upgrades.
