Job summary

J.S. Held is seeking a motivated Industrial Hygienist to join our Industrial Hygiene & Built Environment team in Kansas City.

This role will support environmental health and safety consulting across multiple industries, performing exposure assessments, indoor environmental quality investigations, and risk mitigation. You will work with project managers, hygienists, and scientists to deliver high-quality services, manage projects, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
• 3–8 years of industrial hygiene, environmental consulting, or occupational health experience.
• Experience conducting industrial hygiene monitoring and exposure assessments.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and state regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and exposure evaluations for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
• Perform workplace monitoring and sampling for airborne contaminants, noise, heat stress, and indoor air quality.
• Evaluate exposure data and recommend controls (engineering, administrative, PPE).
• Support health and safety program development, implementation, and compliance.
