Qualifications

• EPA certification required to purchase and handle ozone depleting chemicals.
• Must read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, schematics and diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair most complex problems.
• Ability to work safely under hazardous conditions.
• Trained in air conditioning, refrigeration, and evaporative cooling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mounts compressor and condenser units following blueprints or specs.
• Fabricates and installs ductwork and chassis parts with welding equipment.
• Installs evaporator unit in chassis or air-duct system.
• Cuts and threads pipe to correct length using appropriate tools.
• Joins tubing or pipes to refrigerating units and seals joints.
• Installs valves, connects motors and controls to power source.
• Installs filters and tests systems with Freon and gauges.
• Replaces defective electrical components to repair units.
