Job summary

Sagent LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver on-site customer support, calibrations and maintenance for industrial weighing/packaging equipment in the Minneapolis area. You will travel within a regional territory, perform installations, repairs, and diagnostics, and ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, electronics/IT troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with the team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical discipline or equivalent
• Experience installing, repairing, or servicing processor-controlled or PC-based equipment
• 5 years of relevant engineering/electronics/instrumentation/IT/electromechanical repair experience
• 1–3 years electro-mechanical repair experience
• Customer-facing or field service experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
• Residence within the assigned service territory
• Ability to travel overnight and occasional nationwide air travel (10–25%)

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site repairs, installations, calibrations, and preventive maintenance on customer equipment following company standards and regulatory requirements
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and PC-based issues, including module-level diagnostics
• Configure, network, and troubleshoot wired and wireless devices
• Communicate findings, next steps and service performed to customers
• Travel within the service territory and participate in a rotational on-call schedule
• Maintain an accurate inventory of service parts and complete annual cycle counts
• Document all service activity and close work orders promptly
• Maintain company-issued tools and equipment
• Follow safety, quality, and regulatory requirements including Weights & Measures procedures
• Assist Scheduling Analyst and field colleagues and escalate issues when needed
• Maintain professional relationships with customers, colleagues, sales teams, and leadership
• Maintain daily timekeeping and activity punches
