Job summary

Graybar Electric Company in Amarillo, TX is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow our industrial customer base. You will develop new prospects, maintain relationships with existing customers, and regularly visit them at their site or off-site locations.

The role requires travel, targets margin growth, and collaboration with internal teams. Base salary starts at $60,000 per year, with bonus eligibility and Graybar's comprehensive benefits and employee stock ownership plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience.
• 4+ years experience preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers; regularly visit them at their site of business or off-site locations.
• Meet or exceed assigned annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in assigned territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
