Job summary

Polaris is seeking an on-site Facilities Maintenance Technician in Huntsville, AL to maintain building systems, perform preventive maintenance, and repair mechanical, electrical, and installed systems including fire and security alarms.

The role requires reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, operating PLCs and related equipment, and maintaining safety standards in a manufacturing environment. Minimum education is High School/GED with 5 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
• Working knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems
• Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems.
• Maintain, operate HVAC systems and monitor building automation systems.
• Perform general maintenance (e.g., changing light bulbs, painting, drywall repairs, plumbing) as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for installation and repairs.
• Operate equipment including motor control, switchgear, conveyors, and PLCs safely.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
