Job summary
Actalent is seeking an Industrial Engineering Technician for hands-on support of new product launches and manufacturing operations in Chicago, IL. This contract-to-hire role emphasizes design of fixtures and workstations, process improvements, and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
The ideal candidate has an associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, with strong mechanical aptitude and some CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred).
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar technical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.
- Exposure to manufacturing or assembly processes.
- Basic 3D CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with NPI, Lean Manufacturing, tooling/fixtures, or time studies is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support new product launches and engineering changes.
- Design/build jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing workstations.
- Create and update work instructions.
- Build prototypes, mockups, and test samples.
- Conduct time studies and support production routings.
- Train production employees on new products and processes.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and improve production efficiency.
