Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Contract Industrial Engineer to support East Peoria, IL operations. The role focuses on designing and improving manufacturing processes, applying lean principles, and driving waste reduction and efficiency.

Responsibilities include time studies, PFMEA, standard work development, and collaboration with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver performance improvements and cost savings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a manufacturing or industrial engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Six Sigma and lean manufacturing background with practical CI experience.
• Hands-on PFMEA experience to identify and mitigate process risks.
• Proficiency in process mapping and root cause analysis to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
• Experience supporting new product development and introduction into manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize production processes to support manufacturing operations and meet performance targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
• Apply lean principles to identify and eliminate waste and enhance efficiency.
• Conduct time studies to establish labor standards and support standardized work.
• Perform failure and root cause analysis to resolve process issues and prevent recurrence.
• Develop, update, and maintain clear work instructions for standardized production activities.
• Use PFMEA and process mapping to assess risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support new product development and introductions by refining processes and documentation.
• Analyze production data to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote best practices to foster a culture of operational excellence.
