Job summary

Legrand AV, Inc. in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Industrial Engineering Technician to join the Focal Point Team. The role focuses on hands-on product development, production support, and training for new processes.

You will design manufacturing workstations, create jigs/fixtures, run time studies, develop routings, and help implement changes across assembly, paint, and fabrication departments. A technical degree and CAD experience are preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; salary ranges

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering technology.
• Experience with hand tools demonstrated through projects or past work.
• Basic 3D CAD knowledge; SolidWorks preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience in assembly processes and lean manufacturing preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own new product development and engineering change activities related to production.
• Set up manufacturing work areas and train operators.
• Create jigs and fixtures; train assembly, paint, and fabrication teams.
• Develop work instructions with production processes.
• Validate designs by creating mockups and coordinating prototype builds.
• Perform time studies and develop production routings.
• Identify production issues and scope engineering change requirements.
• Drive cross-functional communication for product designs and launches.
