Job summary

RTX's Collins Avionics facility in Melbourne, FL invites students pursuing Industrial or Mechanical Engineering to join a hands-on Co-op. You will work in a cross-functional team applying manufacturing concepts to improve processes and equipment.

Responsibilities include Lean/Six Sigma support, tooling design, root-cause analysis and learning standard work and production issue resolution. This role offers real-world manufacturing exposure with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering during the co-op session.
• Must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours by the start of the co-op session.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session from January to August.
• Improve operator productivity through manufacturing process improvements.
• Design tooling to aid in manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop countermeasures for equipment and products.
• Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives including 5S, waste reduction and flow improvements.
• Analyze manufacturing processes for cost reduction opportunities.
• Plan and design layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment.
