Job summary

RTX Corporation in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Industrial/Mechanical Engineering co-op for the 2026 Summer/Fall terms. You will join a cross‑functional team applying manufacturing concepts to promote changes, with emphasis on communication and hands‑on learning.

The position targets students pursuing an IE/ME degree, with a minimum of 30 credits; CAD and MS Office experience are preferred. Relocation is eligible, and the role is onsite at the Melbourne facility.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering during the co-op.
• Must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours by the start of the co-op.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session January–August.
• Improve operator productivity through manufacturing process improvements.
• Design tooling to aid in manufacturing processes.
• Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives including 5S, Waste Reduction, and Flow Improvements.
• Analyze manufacturing processes for cost reduction opportunities.
• Plan and design layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment.
