Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering COOP in Cedar Rapids, IA, onsite to apply engineering concepts and improve manufacturing operations. You will work with manufacturing engineers and production staff to influence product quality, costs, and production flow while developing skills in SAP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, and PDM.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related STEM field through internship/co-op.
Experience with CAD software is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflow.
Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems.
Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, and collaborate with design teams to incorporate changes to eliminate these risks.
Manage moderately sized projects or processes.
Independently resolve problems that are complex and challenging.
Develop tactical plans to address and manage day-to-day challenges.
Travel occasionally to local regional sites in Iowa.
