Job summary

RTX Cedar Rapids is seeking an Industrial Engineering student for an internship/co‑op to work with manufacturing teams on day‑to‑day issues and longer‑term projects to eliminate recurring problems. You will design tooling using additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support production needs and assist with technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or related STEM major.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production floor employees to solve day-to-day issues and address longer-term projects.
• Design tooling using additive manufacturing to support production needs.
• Analyze layout optimization, flow, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
• Assist in planning resources, materials, and personnel to maximize equipment utilization.
• Conduct studies focused on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory control, and production records.
