Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer to manage production planning and scheduling at our Welkom facility. The role focuses on developing detailed schedules, coordinating with manufacturing teams, and analyzing data to drive efficiency and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in production planning, strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, and a track record of improving throughput and inventory management in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related industrial engineering role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SYSPRO) and planning/scheduling software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timely execution.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules to meet demand forecasts and operational targets.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production flow and material availability.
• Analyze production capacity, identify potential bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to improve scheduling efficiency.
• Monitor production performance against schedules and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning and scheduling.
• Utilise ERP/MRP systems and planning software to manage production orders and material requirements.
• Assist in demand forecasting and long-term capacity planning initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing overall production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare reports on production schedules, performance, and potential issues for management.
