Job summary

Placements24, in partnership with a rapidly growing manufacturing firm in Tembisa, Gauteng, seeks an Industrial Engineer to join the operations team. The role focuses on boosting production efficiency, optimizing workflows, and applying lean manufacturing principles.

You will analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, design solutions to reduce waste, and work with production staff to implement improvements. A hybrid work arrangement combines on-site collaboration with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years in an industrial engineering role in manufacturing.
• Strong lean manufacturing knowledge and application.
• Experience with data analysis, SPC, and process simulation desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and improvements.
• Develop optimized layouts, workflows, and SOPs.
• Apply lean techniques (5S, Kaizen, VSM) to reduce waste.
• Design equipment and material handling to support processes.
• Collect and interpret data to track performance and trends.
• Collaborate with production to implement corrective actions.
• Create training materials for new processes.
• Participate in CAPEX planning and justifications.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
