Job summary

Boise Cascade is seeking a developmental engineer to evaluate and improve plant performance in safety, quality, production output, and operating cost. This hands-on role involves research, experiments, and data analysis in a plant environment while leading action teams to drive results.

You will study current processes, recommend improvements using the Boise Improvement Cycle, and gain exposure to multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Wood Products, Forestry, Business, Engineering or related field required.
• Developmental position designed to expose the individual to various facets of the business.
• Prefer degree in STEM and 0-4 years of related experience.
• Ability to understand and apply calculations; communicate effectively at all levels.
• Comfortable working in a plant environment with diverse teams; flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve plant performance in safety, quality, production output and operating cost.
• Hands-on role performing research, experiments and data gathering in a plant environment.
• Lead action teams to drive results and study current production processes.
• Recommend improvements using the Boise Improvement Cycle and gain cross‑department exposure.
• Other duties as assigned.
