Job summary

nVent in Blaine, MN is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead the design and optimization of manufacturing systems, improving throughput, safety, and cost, while supporting NPI and long-term growth. This on-site role requires strong data-driven analysis, lean methods, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will develop capacity models, conduct time studies, and leverage ERP and data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years leading complex manufacturing, material flow, or facility optimization.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and Lean/Process improvement experience.
• Experience using CAD tools to develop/evaluate layouts and material flow concepts.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred; PMP is a plus.
• Advanced Excel; SQL and data visualization (Power BI/Tableau) helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput, capacity utilization, and efficiency.
• Drive safety, productivity, and flow efficiency using data-driven analysis and Lean methods.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve material flow, cycle time, and WIP.
• Lead initiatives to reduce costs and improve resource utilization.
• Conduct time studies, capacity modeling, and simulations to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance and quality.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and track KPI impact across safety, cost, productivity, and cycle time.
• Develop capacity models and resource plans to align demand with production capability.
• Support new product launches ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
• Leverage ERP, analytics, and data visualization to support data-driven decisions.
• Establish and standardize engineering best practices and continuous improvement frameworks.
