FlexTek in Houston seeks an experienced Continuous Improvement/Industrial Engineer to turn Lean principles into measurable savings and efficiency gains on a large automotive manufacturing operation.

The role requires hands-on floor work, time studies, and development of future-state processes with value stream maps. You will lead Kaizen events and collaborate with production leadership to sustain improvements across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing/engineering experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Experience applying Lean manufacturing in an industrial environment.
• Demonstrated history of delivering quantifiable results through process or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience conducting time studies and developing Value Stream Maps.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across a large automotive manufacturing operation.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve throughput, productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, and overall operational performance.
• Conduct time studies, cycle-time analysis, capacity analysis, line balancing, and workflow assessments to identify constraints and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and utilize Value Stream Maps to evaluate current-state operations and develop actionable future-state processes.
• Establish measurable objectives for improvement projects and track results to demonstrate tangible operational and financial impact.
• Lead Kaizen events and other structured improvement initiatives based on operational data and business priorities.
• Develop standardized work, operating procedures, process documentation, and sustainable performance measures.
• Partner directly with production leadership and frontline employees to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Analyze manufacturing layouts, material movement, labor utilization, equipment placement, and production flow.
• Support a major initiative to transition operations toward a single-flow facility, including process design, layout optimization, workflow, and implementation.
• Lead or support industrial improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation and measurement of results.
• Present project results, recommendations, cost savings, and performance improvements to leadership.
• Help build a culture where continuous improvement is measurable, repeatable, and owned throughout the organization.
