Job summary

Korpack, a food-grade contract packaging company in the western Chicago suburbs, seeks an Industrial Engineer to design efficient layouts and processes across two facilities. You will perform time studies, line balancing, and changeover analysis to reduce waste and improve throughput, while embedding standards in the ERP (Acumatica).

You will collaborate with Distribution & Supply Chain to optimize material flow, and lead automation and flow improvements as Korpack expands by ~150,000 sq ft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with automation projects—scoping, justifying, implementing, validating results.
• Track record of improving throughput in real production environments (line balancing, changeover reduction, bottleneck analysis).
• Experience analyzing and redesigning material flow and material handling—layouts, move frequency, touch reduction.
• Strong data skills: you can build the analysis yourself (Excel required; Power BI and ERP data experience a big plus).

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies and line balancing to optimize throughput.
• Perform changeover analysis and material move mapping to reduce handling steps.
• Lead automation opportunities and throughput-improvement projects.
• Design layouts for expansions and document standards inside the ERP system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure flow from product to people to materials across two facilities.
