Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to join our onsite team in Colorado Springs. You will analyze, design, and optimize production systems to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure safe operations using lean methods.

Responsibilities include defining processes, time studies, layout optimization, cross-functional partnering, safety compliance, and data-driven improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

• STEM degree and minimum 2 years of experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to information under this program/contract.
• Experience with data analysis tools and manufacturing software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, MES).
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop processes including equipment, fixture design, routings, programming, tooling, and standard work to support production lines.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes using time studies, workflow analysis, and data modeling.
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Design and optimize workstation layouts, material flow, and equipment utilization.
• Define the physical layout of machinery and the efficient sequence of operations and workflows.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and support daily operations.
• Monitor safety, ergonomics, and compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Use statistical methods to analyze performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
