Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced engineer to interpret drawings, optimize manufacturing processes, and support design changes. You will perform cost analyses, capacity planning, and implement improvements to reduce defects and production costs.

The role requires a university degree with 1+ year manufacturing experience, proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Office, and a strong Lean mindset. Onsite placement in Melbourne, FL with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent experience required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for product.
• Recommend engineering solutions and coordinate with Production Manager and Design Engineering.
• Support evaluation of production and design changes.
• Perform cost/payback analysis for capital equipment.
• Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for equipment needs.
• Identify approaches to reduce staffing and capital requirements.
• Assist in eliminating defects and improving yields with root-cause analysis.
• Develop solutions to difficult technical problems with guidance from peers or managers.
• Maintain methods and processes in manufacture of complex sub-assembly and top-level designs.
• Provide technical training to floor technicians and operators.
• Maintain documentation and change management across product and processes.
