MDS Staffing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role collaborates with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize workflow and solve technical problems.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and 5–7+ years’ experience, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and a Lean/continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field.
  • 5–7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to support production.
  • Analyze data to find cost, quality, and throughput improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure products are manufacturable and cost-effective with design teams.
  • Specify, test, and support installation of new equipment.
  • Create and update work instructions, SOPs, and documents.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Train production staff on new processes and tools.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Salary - $95K - $110K

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II who supports the development, improvement, and maintenance of manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role works closely with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and solve technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
  • Support production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased throughput.
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and support continuous improvement projects.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to ensure products are manufacturable and cost-effective.
  • Specify, test, and support installation of new equipment and tools.
  • Create and update work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Train production staff on new processes, tools, or equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5 - 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and basic data analysis

Preferred:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or similar training
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects
