Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Lake Bluff facility to optimize adhesive and coating processes, focus on cost efficiency, and ensure quality standards. The role leads new process launches and coordinates equipment implementation while driving improvements to production methods and controls.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, and strong ISO/LEAN knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in LEAN and Kaizen principles.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Improves new and existing manufacturing processes for cost reduction, quality, or efficiency.
• Coordinates between production teams the manufacturing launch of new/revised processes and equipment.
• Completes design and development projects by documenting ISO compliant work instructions, training, and guiding technicians.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisor
• Maintain technical data logs relating to manufacturing processes
• Leverages engineering techniques aid in trouble shooting product quality for trail and non-trail products.
