Job summary

Penguin Random House, Westminster Operations Center in Carroll County, MD, seeks an Operations Services Analyst to support distribution operations and drive efficiency. You will collaborate across the network, contribute to automation initiatives, and help optimize material handling processes.

Responsibilities include analyzing existing processes, building Excel-based analyses, time studies, and supporting warehouse management system implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in industrial engineering, supply chain operations, or related technical field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas.
• Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing conditions.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

• Analyze distribution operations and support process improvements across the network.
• Develop and run analyses in Excel to inform decisions.
• Collaborate across sites to support automation, material handling, and WMS initiatives.
• Conduct time studies, flow-chart development, and test system enhancements.
• Contribute to activity-based costing and labor models; support facility design and new automation.
