Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is offering an internship in Detroit, MI, with placement across DTNA locations in the US. Interns will support production improvements in Transmission and Axle operations, gain hands-on experience, and may transition to full-time based on performance.

Salary ranges from $21 to $29 per hour, with benefits like professional development and stipends. This internship starts in May/June and supports hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or recently graduated within 1 year from the start date (May/June).
• Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing engineering or Operations management preferred.
• Knowledge of process mapping / value stream mapping.
• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge and Six Sigma understanding.

Responsibilities

• Cycle time and utilization confirmation for production jobs.
• Optimize manpower utilization in production.
• Work with supervisors and team members to optimize production processes.
• Participate in Practical Problem Solving discussions to find root causes of systemic issues impacting metrics.
• Develop flexible manpower plans to support varying shift models.
• Support special projects and digitalization efforts with visualization tools to quickly troubleshoot and improve KPIs.
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs.
