Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is offering internship opportunities across multiple U.S. locations, including Detroit, MI. Interns will participate in production-support activities, process improvements, and digitalization efforts while aligning with DTNA's core values and safety standards.

Selected interns may transition to full-time roles based on performance and business needs. Salary ranges from $21–$29 per hour, with benefits and development opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or recently graduated within 1 year.
• Industrial/Manufacturing engineering or Operations management preferred.
• Knowledge of process mapping/value stream mapping.
• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge.
• Proficiency with PowerBI/Microsoft Tools.
• Able to work in an industrial/plant environment and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Cycle time and utilization confirmation for production jobs.
• Optimize manpower utilization in production.
• Collaborate with supervisors, team leaders and team members to optimize production processes.
• Participate in Practical Problem Solving to identify root causes of systemic issues affecting metrics.
• Develop flexible manpower plans to support varying shift models.
• Support special projects as required.
• Assist in driving digitalization in the department, coordinating with the Tech Lab to develop visualization tools to troubleshoot KPIs.
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
