Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Champaign, IL facility seeks an Electronics Technician to join the maintenance team in performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades on motors, drives, sensors, and PLC/HMI-controlled equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

This role requires reading blueprints, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including 2nd and 3rd shifts with weekend availability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in industrial electrician trade.
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the plant.
  • Able to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on all electrical systems including motors, generators, switches, lights, etc.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and VFDs
  • Monitor and adjust voltage levels as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and fix electrical issues promptly.
  • Assist other departments by providing technical assistance to solve complex problems.
  • Work closely with others to complete daily tasks.
  • Ensure safe working conditions by complying with safety regulations and wearing proper protective gear.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely.

Compensation Overview: The starting hourly wage for this role is $37.26. Shift Premium of $.75/hr on 2nd shift & $1.00/hr on 3rd shift. Hourly Bonus Program.

Work Schedule
  • Flexible scheduling, 8-hour workday, 5-6 days a week, with possible overtime.
  • 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm)
  • 3rd Shift (11pm-7am)
  • Employees must have weekend availability.
  • Employees may work weekends and holidays.
Job Overview

Electronics Technicians, as part of the maintenance team, will perform electrical maintenance including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and control systems. This role responds to downtime events, performs preventive maintenance, and completes installations and upgrades involving motors, drives, sensors, panels, and PLC/HMI-controlled equipment. This position will be working in a food manufacturing environment, following strict product safety and quality standards. Interested individuals must be able to work in a fast paced, complex environment.
