Job summary

Amteck, a national electrical design-build contractor, is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Kentucky to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of electrical systems in industrial environments, ensuring NFPA 70B, OEM specs, and NETA standards compliance.

This role supports uptime and continuous operations by servicing power distribution systems, motors, controls, and related components.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5+ years in an industrial electrical maintenance setting.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution, and industrial installations.
• Ability to develop and execute preventive maintenance strategies.
• High proficiency with electrical tools and testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret arc-flash studies and safety protocols.
• Extensive knowledge of NEC rules and OSHA/NFPA 70E.
• Strong scheduling and reporting skills for maintenance activities.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• NFPA 70E/70B training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical preventive maintenance and testing per NFPA 70B and NETA.
• Conduct infrared thermography to identify faults.
• Inspect electrical components for wear or damage.
• Clean, lubricate, and service electrical equipment.
• Test power distribution systems and motors for proper function.
• Assess equipment condition and maintenance risks.
• Follow lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety procedures.
• Support EHS initiatives and safe work practices.
• Document inspections and corrective actions.
• Identify issues to minimize downtime and cost.
• Communicate work status with customers and team.
• Enforce site safety programs and preventive culture.
