Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking an Electrical Helper I for on-site work in Rapid City, SD. You will assist journeymen and foremen with installing electrical systems, raceway, conduit, wiring, fixtures, and supports in accordance with project specs.

The role emphasizes safety, toolbox meetings, and adherence to NEC codes on busy construction sites. Expect a full-time schedule around 50 hours/week with up to 90% travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NCCER Certification/License preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical helper IV role.

Responsibilities

• Install raceway systems to meet project production standards.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks.
• Pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Install small electrical equipment and supports.
• Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork daily.
• Demonstrate safety as a top priority.
• Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Understanding of basic electrical systems (low and high voltage).
• Learn project specifications and install electrical system to those standards.
• Look for ways to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Install systems in a neat and workman like manner.
