Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Kingsport, TN seeks an experienced Electrical & Controls Designer to support capital projects in industrial manufacturing. You will develop and maintain electrical/control deliverables from concept to commissioning, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

The role requires at least 5 years of industrial electrical design, NEC/ISA proficiency, and experience with MCC diagrams, electrical room

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical and controls design experience in manufacturing, chemical, refining, or similar facilities.
Strong knowledge of the NEC and applicable ISA standards.
Experience developing MCC single-line diagrams, electrical room/equipment layouts, cable schedules and grounding/shielding plans.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain electrical and controls design documentation (loop diagrams, junction boxes, panel wiring diagrams, cable schedules).
Perform electrical calculations and support equipment layouts and room layouts.
Review vendor/fabrication drawings and resolve field design issues.
Support projects through feasibility, scope, cost estimating, procurement, construction, startup and commissioning.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations and project management to meet safety, schedule and budget goals.
