Job summary

Mid-State Industrial Maintenance seeks an experienced EHS Trainer to deliver classroom and hands-on safety and equipment training at Lakeland, FL. You will train employees, contractors, and customers, translating complex safety requirements into practical, safe-work guidance.

You will work with the EHS Training Manager, conduct OSHA-based curricula (OSHA 10/30 when authorized) and operator evaluations for forklifts, cranes, MEWPs, and related equipment, and maintain training records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in industrial safety.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in EHS, industrial safety, equipment operation, or safety training.
• Experience delivering classroom and hands-on safety training.
• Experience developing safety training programs and curriculum; training external customers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct New-hire and site-specific safety orientation, ensuring employees understand safety policies, procedures, hazard recognitions, and safe work practices.
• Provide equipment safety training and operator evaluations for forklifts, cranes, rigging, MEWPs, aerial lifts, and related equipment.
• Deliver OSHA 10-Hour and OSHA 30-Hour training when authorized; provide NFPA 70E electrical safety training when qualified.
• Deliver training in fall protection, LOTO, confined space, PPE, hazard communication, hot work and welding safety, hand and power tool safety, and job hazard analysis.
• Conduct hands-on demonstrations, practical exercises, and operator competency evaluations to verify learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate training records, rosters, evaluations, certifications, and documentation.
• Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and organizing training activities; travel to facilities and sites as needed.
• Represent the company professionally with employees, customers, and stakeholders while supporting EHS training expansion.
