Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Safety Trainer to lead equipment operator and safety training for customers and staff. You will publish class schedules, deliver both public and private sessions, and maintain training records across branches and customer sites.

The role requires 5+ years in a related field, heavy equipment knowledge, LMS proficiency, and strong MS Office skills, with 10–15% travel. A cooperative, safety-focused approach is essential for growth of the Safety Training business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field.
• Heavy equipment experience and certification (MEWP, Forklift, Earth Moving).
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with LMS.
• Willingness to travel 10%-15%.
• Strong knowledge of industry safety standards and adult learning methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment operator certification training and safety training for customers and employees.
• Publish public training class schedules on a 3-month rolling calendar.
• Provide private classes at branch locations or customer sites.
• Complete training records in Sunbelt's systems.
• Issue customer wallet cards within 24 hours of class completion.
• Learn new adult training methods and courses for safety topics.
• Maintain current training and operator certifications.
• Provide Train the Trainer courses for customers.
• Optimize productivity by maximizing class attendance and scheduling.
• Sell and support the sales teams to grow the Safety Training business.
• Create flyers with Marketing Support to promote training offerings.
• Coach and mentor Certified Evaluators in districts.
• Assist onboarding and training of new District Safety Trainers and Evaluators.
• Advise on safety issues and standards to employees and customers.
