Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking an EHS Specialist for a major industrial manufacturer in the Jackson, Mississippi area. You will lead health, safety, and environmental programs, ensuring compliance and driving a strong safety culture across a fast-paced site.

You will conduct risk assessments, investigations, and data analysis to measure HSE performance and support continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with operations to enable site growth and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of health, safety, and environmental experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, compliance activities, and HSE performance monitoring.
• Preferred CSP, CIH, or CHMM; familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and HOP principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support health, safety, and environmental programs ensuring regulatory, standards, and policy compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement preventive measures to reduce incidents.
• Facilitate incident investigations, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Perform audits, inspections, reporting, and data analysis to measure HSE effectiveness and drive improvement.
• Partner with operations and leadership to strengthen safety culture and support growth/projects.
