Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking an EHS Specialist for a major industrial manufacturer in the Jackson, Mississippi area. You will lead health, safety, and environmental programs, ensuring compliance and driving a strong safety culture across a fast-paced site.

You will conduct risk assessments, investigations, and data analysis to measure HSE performance and support continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with operations to enable site growth and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of health, safety, and environmental experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, compliance activities, and HSE performance monitoring.
• Preferred CSP, CIH, or CHMM; familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and HOP principles.

• Partner with operations and leadership teams to strengthen safety culture, provide coaching, and support facility growth and operational projects.

The Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of health, safety, and environmental experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, compliance activities, and HSE performance monitoring.
• Preferred qualifications include professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM, along with familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
