Job summary

Emerson in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking an Industrial Designer to join our engineering team and shape innovative, market-relevant product designs.

You will partner with engineering, marketing, and global R&D to balance form, function, and user needs while aligning with Emerson’s commitment to innovation and inclusion. This role may be filled at Industrial Designer or Senior Industrial Designer level based on qualifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent BS/BA.
2+ years designing high-volume durable consumer products, with knowledge of manufacturing and molding.
Strong sketching, rendering, and visualization skills using manual and digital tools.
Experience with 3D CAD modeling and ability to communicate across functions.
Portfolio that demonstrates design thinking, creativity, and technical capability.
Legal authorization to work in the United States and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Create new product concept themes that enhance visual appeal and market differentiation.
Collaborate with global R&D, engineering, and marketing to conceptualize products and features.
Interpret market insights and translate data into human-centric designs.
Maintain consistent design language across styling, graphics, and packaging.
Develop industrial design concepts, appearance models, and prototypes.
Participate in external research initiatives and university studio projects.
