Job summary

Emerson Tool Company, based in St. Louis, MO, seeks a Project Engineer to join an international team in product design and development from concept to production.

You will lead and support multi-functional design efforts, with rapid prototyping and in-house testing capabilities. The role includes developing product concepts, validating designs, and maintaining current offerings while pursuing innovations and IP opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related engineering and development experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling, drafting, and CAE.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across multi-functional groups.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
• US legal authorization to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Define product requirements with cross-functional teams and develop final solutions.
• Conduct R&D to explore new technologies and incorporate them into products.
• Conceptualize, design, prototype, and develop innovative solutions meeting performance and quality standards.
• Stay updated on advancements and conduct competition analysis.
• Assist in development of IP strategies including patent applications.
• Plan project budgets, staffing, and schedules to meet completion dates.
• Review and report project status and recommend procedural changes.
• Identify, analyze, and implement cost reductions.
• Support sustaining engineering to maintain existing products and resolve issues.
• Monitor prototype construction, testing, and approvals during design evolution.
• Operate various hand and power tools.
