Job summary

Emerson is seeking an engineering intern in the United States for full-time in-person work in Minnesota. You will develop new products, design components, and collaborate with global teams across multiple disciplines during the design cycle.

The role emphasizes analytical thinking, communication, and hands-on prototype/testing experience. Preferred candidates are pursuing an engineering degree, with strong GPA and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Use analytical skills, reasoning, and engineering judgment to develop new and innovative products and technologies.
  • Design components including injection molded plastics, die and investment castings, stampings, machined parts, etc.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional project teams to ensure new designs meet internal requirements and industry standards.
  • Support prototype construction, laboratory testing, and agency testing during the product design cycle.
  • Apply sound engineering practices to solve quality issues.
  • Provide continuation engineering support for existing products.
  • Interact with software, electrical, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain, sales, and customers on technical matters.
  • Identify and implement product and process cost reductions and improvements.
