Job summary

Spectrum Brands is seeking a New Product Industrial Designer for its Earth City, MO team. This hybrid role collaborates with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing to translate consumer insight into innovative hard-good products from concept to prototype.

The candidate will use SolidWorks, 3D modeling, and 3D rendering tools, with a strong focus on manufacturability and consumer usability. Relocation assistance is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• 4+ years in industrial design; 3+ years in hard goods design execution.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Keyshot, and 3D modeling.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of materials for hard goods and manufacturability constraints.
• Portfolio demonstrating design thinking, prototyping, and CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Understand consumer needs and translate insights into new product concepts.
• Collaborate with Marketing, NPD, Manufacturing, and Engineering to develop opportunities.
• Develop design concepts with emphasis on ergonomics, form, and function for hard goods.
• Create 2D/3D renderings and physical prototypes; iterate rapidly.
• Support supplier relationships and drive design-for-manufacturing.
• Participate in StageGate processes and maintain CAD documentation.
