Job summary

Mullins Mechanical is seeking a skilled equipment operator to support our industrial and large commercial mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC projects. You will work on heavy machinery and coordinate with site teams to move pipes, valves, and equipment safely and efficiently.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to read blueprints and work orders. This on-site position offers opportunities in dynamic manufacturing and construction environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, plumbing codes, and mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency with construction drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Revit, and other project management software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certification and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to move materials.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Support crews in setting and moving pipe, valves, equipment, and structural components.
• Assist in excavation, grading, backfilling, and trenching for piping and mechanical system installations.
• Follow safety procedures and load limits to prevent accidents or equipment damage.
• Interpret load charts, blueprints, and work orders to determine lifting requirements.
• Coordinate with ground personnel and signalers using hand signals, radios, or other methods.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment use and fuel logs.
• Assist in general labor and material handling when equipment operation is not required.
• Adhere to site-specific and regulatory safety standards, including OSHA guidelines.
