Job summary

Bloom Engineering Company is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers nationwide. You’ll service, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial combustion and heating systems, with travel across the United States and some international work.

Strong English communication and report-writing skills are essential. Required degrees, OSHA/NFPA certifications, a valid license, and passport, plus ability to travel up to 80% of the time, are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering tech / applied sciences degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Chemical).
• Candidate should live near Pittsburgh HQ to support onboarding/training for <4 yrs experience.
• Fluent in English; able to write reports in English.
• OSHA 10-Hour and NFPA 70E safety training (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license and passport required.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% (90% within US).

Responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize industrial combustion and heating systems across the US.
• Perform root-cause analysis on system issues.
• Adjust PID control loops in single- and multi-loop systems.
• Use test equipment (multimeters, sensors, analyzers) to interpret performance.
• Interface with plant operators, engineers, and management; document results.
