Job summary

Mike & Jerry's Paint and Supply is seeking an Industrial Coatings Territory Manager to grow our industrial coatings business across the Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama region. The role focuses on new business development while also expanding relationships with current customers and partners.

The territory may be adjusted based on location, experience, and market opportunities; regular daytime travel and occasional overnight trips are required.

Qualifications

• Proven success in outside sales, territory sales, business development, account management, or a similar customer-facing role.
• Strong prospecting and new-business-development skills.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory independently.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to learn technical products and communicate their value to customers.
• Comfortable working in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, production, and shop environments.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for and secure new industrial business throughout the assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and sales opportunities.
• Build relationships with owners, purchasing teams, plant managers, production personnel, painters, and other key decision-makers.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts by identifying additional products, applications, and opportunities.
• Conduct customer visits, presentations, demonstrations, trials, and product conversions.
• Develop territory and account plans designed to grow sales, gross profit, and market share.
• Identify competitors, market trends, and new business opportunities within the territory.
• Work closely with the Director of Industrial Sales, branch teams, suppliers, and manufacturer representatives to develop business.
• Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, activity, and forecasting information.
• Consistently follow up on opportunities and move prospects through the sales process.
